My Approach

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy with my couples because it is very effective at identifying negative patterns in the relationship as well as helping the couple see underlying unmet emotional needs, fears, and longings.  

In individual counseling, I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, ACT, and Supportive Therapy.

 

I am less formal and rely more on things coming up more organically in therapy.  I feel what needs to be addressed will come up given the right atmosphere and trusting relationship between therapist and client. 

About me

Orginally from Clermont County, I moved to Eaton, Ohio in 2007.  I am married with four (yes, 4) children.  

I have a Master's degree from UC and more than 20 years of experience working in the social work/counseling/therapy profession.  I have extensive training in working with relationship issues.  I also have many years of experience working with adolescents, anxiety and depression, as well as grief and loss.   

Harmony Counseling Services will be relocating to Savannah, GA in the Spring of 2023. If you begin services in Ohio, I will be able to continue via telehealth after I move to Georgia.

Counseling for 
Adults

Individual services are available for ages 13 and over for a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship issues, and life changes/transitions. Insurance usually covers some of the costs for therapy; please check with your plan for your specific benefits.  I am an in-network provider for several major health insurance companies.

Couples
Counseling

Couple's therapy and relationship issues are my passion, and I really enjoy working with couples of all ages regardless of marital status, or sexual orientation.  Insurance does not cover marital/couples therapy, I offer a fair self-pay option for couple's therapy.

Couples
Retreat

"Hold Me Tight" workshops are  held 2-3 times a year and are scheduled on a weekend for your convenience.  One thing I love about a weekend retreat is the amount of progress a couple can make in such a short time compared to traditional therapy in an office setting.

ALL future workshops will be held in Savannah, GA.

Walk and 
Talk

Experience the benefit of therapy and exercise by taking your session outdoors.  There are proven benefits to walking that go beyond physical health.  Traditional face-to-face therapy may not be for you, or sitting for an hour may be difficult for some people.  Walking alongside your therapist can be more comfortable for many people.  Please contact me for more information.
